Enpro Industries HQ achieves ‘Platinum’ certification under LEED v4 BD+C New Construction

Enpro Industries Pvt. Ltdhas become the first project in Maharashtra and third in India to achieve ‘Platinum’ certification under LEED v4 BD+C New Construction.

Enpro Industries Pvt. Ltd., a world leader in the design and manufacturer of mechanical fluid systems and process equipment, which is headquartered in Pimpri, has become the first project in Maharashtra and third in India to achieve ‘Platinum’ certification under LEED v4 BD+C New Construction.GBCI is India’s foremost authority on sustainability in building design, construction, and operation and is part of the U.S. Green Building Council (‘USGBC’) that provides independent oversight of professional credentialing and project certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (‘LEED’) green building rating system.

Enpro Industries Pvt. Ltd. has earned this certification on the merit of its various green initiatives. The facility has invested in a renewable energy installation to offset of annual energy consumption; efficient plumbing fixtures to reduce indoor and outdoor water usage; and an enhanced façade design to optimize window to wall area ratio. It has also incorporated passive cooling technologies such as Earth Air Tunnel and Evaporative Cooling technology for cooling in large spaces such as open office areas. Furthermore, it has integrated waste management strategies such as segregation of waste and managing of waste during construction to minimize environmental impact.

 

Enpro Industries HQ started with the vision of building a sustainable project and this was deliberated exhaustively with all the stakeholders and consultants facilitating the project on day zero. The project architect -Landmark Design Group and LEED consultant -VK: e environmental used the LEED Integrative design process that furthercascaded to the accrued environmental performance of Platinum level.

 

LEED is an international symbol of sustainability excellence and green building leadership that signifies a building is reducing carbon emissions, conserving resources, reducing operating costs, prioritizing sustainable practices and creating a healthier environment.LEED helps companies meet their ESG goals and provides investors with a robust and globally recognized green building framework to measure and manage real-estate performance.
