Victaulic talks technology at ACREX 2016

February 12, 2016 5:12 pm

Victaulic, the world’s leading producer of grooved mechanical couplings and pipe-joining systems, will be displaying a wide range of new products that deliver competitive advantages, including faster installation and improved integration with initiatives such as Building Information Modelling (BIM) systems, at ACREX India 2016 in Mumbai.
The company continues to innovate to allow users to effectively integrate its products into projects and improve piping system design, offering considerable benefits for engineers, consultants and contractors installing pipe in the process.
Victaulic recently introduced Victaulic Tools for Revit, an innovative Autodesk Revit MEP add-in that increases drawing productivity, solves troublesome pipe routing problems and enables the creation of construction and fabrication documentation within Revit. The productivity tools within Victaulic Tools for Revit allow users to design virtual, intelligent models with all mechanical or pump room details in half the time compared to current routing techniques within Revit.
Recent product innovations on show at ACREX – Hall 05, Booth L-1A- include the company´s new and improved QuickVic Style 107N line of Installation-Ready rigid couplings.
With installation up to 10 times faster than conventional pipe joining methods, Installation-Ready systems were recently installed in the Ruby Hall Clinic in Hinjewadi, Pune.
Ease of installation and maintenance – to minimise patient disruption -were critical and Victaulic couplings, valves and fittings were used to join the hot and chilled water piping systems, providing fast, clean and safe installation in the mechanical room. Flexible couplings were chosen to accommodate expansion and contraction on pumps and chillers and with no noxious fumes or flames to consider, Victaulic provided a major advantage over other joining methods such as welding and flanging.
“In so many sectors today, timescales for construction, repair and expansion have become increasingly tight, especially when it comes to vital systems such as HVAC,” says Pankaj Soni, Victaulic Country Manager India. “There is a growing necessity to look to building methods like mechanical piping systems that offer real competitive installation advantages, reduce maintenance difficulties and make facility expansion easier to implement with only minimised disruption.”
